Dancing on the head of a pin...

Still working on it - you can see from this little mosaic that I added a fourth and fifth layer of leaves (and who knows, I may add another before it's all done)  and then...

I added some vines to the broken fence and the trunk of the tree.  I didn't like that first attempt though, so...

 Ah!

A subtle change, but a good one.

And now begins the part I despair over - approximately one million leaves need to be hand stitched.  (Why, oh why do I DO this to myself?)

And as always - the devil is in the details: which may include one hundred ladybugs dancing on the head of a pin. :)

So that's MY weekend - and you?

  1. Incredible! That's a lot of hand stitching, but it's also what will make this an incredibly stunning piece when it's done! Have a great weekend Kit.

  3. You know it's a pain in the butt but THAT is exactly the reason you stand out head and shoulders in your work...

  5. I love your little mosaic at the top of the post! it is like watching your tree leaf out the way real trees do in springtime {except I think the trees around here have forgotten to wake up this spring!}
