That was me, this weekend.
One of those little bees has antennae going the wrong way, so that will need to be fixed, and one of the ladybugs needs to be picked out 'cuz she's looking a bit lumpy; but I'm loving this little green beetle...
Those vines are coming along, but I want to put a nice, dark yellow thread in there too...
and the tree's coming along...
I added a seventh and eighth (or is that eighth and ninth?) layer of leaves last night, which are presently being hand stitched; and then some work on grasses and flowers is in order - maybe another spider or two, and I think - a squirrel.
I'm also unpicking the background trees, but what to do to cover up the mess?

ReplyDeleteHow did you get veins in those leaves? They look very tiny. I imagine them to be smaller than a dime. Did you use a pigma pen and then sew them to the background? I love the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves in the vines are less than half the size of a dime, the leaves in the trees are the width of a dine, but longer. All are hand stitched. :)
DeleteLove your foliage and grasses, Kit. Grasses are much on my mind this day as I've decided I have to pick out and re-do the grasses/cat-tails on one of my pieces. Your work has inspired me to be unafraid of machine stitching on silk ribbon if need be! Thanks!
