The Cobbler's Children...

Over the long weekend (it was Canada Day here on Friday) BSP asked me to make some new cat quilts for the babies.

I can't imagine why!

This was one of the very first quilts I made. Although I don't count them when I talk about my first quilts - when I was learning to quilt, I made about 40 of these cat and dog sized quilts, 36 of  which I later donated to our vet for the cages.

This is the back of  the other one I replaced this weekend - the front is so damaged and torn up, that you can't even see what used to be the pattern!

Since our "kids" are getting older now, I decided to make them cat cushions rather than quilts.

This bright blue one has ties, because that particular cushion lives in a window that has bars (basement window in the back of the house) so BSP suggested I tie it to the bars so it doesn't keep falling off the ledge.

Other things were done as well - but more on that later.

For my Canadian friends, hope you had a great Canada Day weekend, and for my American ones, happy belated 4th of July.

Back to work for us all!

  1. Lovely ! I just have to make sure our cats do not see this post ... they would have the biggest selfpity-party ever ;-)) because, no, they don't have quilts or cushions or so of their own
