WIP Wednesday

So, the day before yesterday, I happened to notice my follower count, and it's at 98.  You may (or may not) remember that some months ago, I said that when I reached 100 followers, I would have a giveaway.  So when I saw "98" I said to BSP "Eep! I have 98 followers!  I have to make something for my giveaway!"

I had decided several months ago, that when I did this give away, I would do a "pay it forward" kind of giveaway, because several months ago, I won enough fabric and a pattern to make a lap sized quilt top from Green Fairy Quilts.  When it arrived, I decided that I would use the fabric in my own pattern, and then do a giveaway of the quilt and the pattern to one of my followers.

Of course, I had to add something shiny to it (because that's just the way I am) so the majority of the quilt is going to be this raspberry silk that I purchased a couple of years ago.  I can't remember what kind of silk it is, but it has a really interesting texture - and I like the juxtaposition of it against the cottons.

At the moment, I'm just experimenting with bits of the various fabrics until I decide what this quilt is going to look like  - the cotton fabrics and the colour pallette are quite a departure for me, so I decided that playing with it would inspire me more than staring at them.  *laugh*

So, at the moment, I'm not sure what this will grow up to be, but whatever it is, sometime soon, it might come to you!

In the meantime, happy quilting!

  4. That's going to be a pretty quilt!

100 followers sounds like a lot! I only have 3, so I suppose it will be some time before I do a giveaway!! (I did give away a quilt, though not through my blog.)
