One of These Things (Is not like the others)

Project "Finish Those WIPs" is well underway - this quilt - just last week, a pile of blocks in a basket - finally got done.  Sadly, there are a lot more like it waiting for attention!

Click below for the back and details...  oh - and a little giveaway.

I was experimenting with something like "snowballs" - I wanted to give them a slightly Asian feel.  This was a practice run with some brights I had in my stash - but I'd like to try it again with dark sashing and Chinese silks.  I think it would be beautiful! In the meantime, I now have this cute little baby quilt, called "One of the These Things (is not like the others)".

I had a lot of these practice blocks around, so I did a pieced back too:

For the quilting, I combined pebbles with squiggles and some "straight" lines for contrast:

If you'd like some blocks - some finished and some unfinished, in solids - like the blue above, as well as a dark blue and a kelly green, let me know - and I'll send them along to you with some red sashing.  There's definitely enough blocks for a baby-sized quilt

If there's more than one of you interested, I'll do a draw and post the results on Wednesday.

  4. That makes a great baby quilt and I love the name! And your pebbles remind me I should try them the next time I am quilting instead of my normal meandering.
